Wydawnictwo: OWPW Tom II Serii Wydawniczej „Technika Akceleratorowa” Vol. II, Editorial Series on Accelerator Science (R.S. Romaniuk, J.-P. Koutchouk - Editors) There were presented two different, distributed in time, TRIDAQ systems applied for High Energy Physics (HEP) experiments. Functional and technological requirements were collected and debated for such multichannel measurement and control systems. The key features of these electronic and photonic systems are: they are large, distributed, multichannel, synchronous, very reliable, widely configurable, self-conscious, self diagnosing, capable of data quality evaluation, etc. Even approximate analysis of these requirements that these systems embrace various kinds of electronics like ultrafast analog circuits, converters, up to highly integrated digital FPGA circuits, and multi-gigabit reliable optical links. TRIDAQ systems use the newest technologies to fulfill the increasing needs of data manipulation in HEP experiments. Construction of such systems involves experts from different branches of electonics, semiconductor technology and physics. The book compares the development of two generations of TRIDAQ systems used effectively at ZEUS – HERA at DESY and CMS – LHC at CERN. |
